The Chiwong Gompa hosts the annual Mani Rimdu Festival. The Buddhist monks re-inact the establishment of the Dharma in Tibet in 770 by Guru Rimpoche. Located in the Solu-Khumbu District of Nepal, the ritual is held during the first full moon in November.
The Fire Puga - the "Jinsak" is a ritual purification by fire. Offerings are made to the fire built on a sand mandala while the monks dance, play instruments and chant.
